Project Description

Published in the Universal Magazine, London, 1754

An early and uncommon map of the colonial northeast coast of America and including the Great Lakes published at the outbreak of the French/Indian war. Native North America tribes such as the Cherokees and the Miamis are notes as well as significant coastal towns such as Beaufort, Jamestown, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston. Although fairly detailed the project of the map is somewhat curious placing many areas further north and west such as South Carolina.
