Published in Arrowsmith’s “New General Atlas” Edinburgh: Archibald Constable, 1823.

A small yet detailed double hemisphere map with fine calligraphic lettering. Australia is still named “New Holland”. Aaron Arrowsmith was an English cartographer and engraver who published several fine and detailed maps in the 18th Century. His firm was succeeded by his sons Aaron Jr. and Samuel and by the 1840’s his nephew John Arrowsmith.

Map Condition: Small tear upper left margin and other small defects such as browning and chips to margins else very good. Map Type: Copperplate engraving with hand colouring in outline
