One of the earliest views of Philadelphia by Scull & Heap. One year earlier they produced a similar map with a perspective view of the state house. The map showing the Delaware and Schuykill Rivers, smaller settlements and the city of Philadelphia went into several subsequent editions. Published in the Gentleman’s Magazine. Jolly-Gent 87. Map Condition: Right margin trimmed close, light offsetting but on the whole very good. Map type: Copper engraved map.
