A large and detailed double sheet map extending from the Gulf of Arabia to the Pelew Islands. Daniel Lizars was a Scottish engraver and cartographer who took over the family business at the ae of 19 after his father Daniel Sr. died. The business eventually went bankrupt and Daniel emigrated with his family to Canada leaving his brothers behind to try and keep running the business.

Map Condition: Two large splits between 75/70deg. and 60 deg. into the Indian Ocean. Light offsetting and small loss to upper left corner still very good. Map Type: Copper engraved map hand coloured in outline
