Description

Published in Joan Blaeu’s “Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, sive Atlas Novus”. A decorative and detailed map of Berkshire with the Royal Arms upper left and right. Costumed figures lower right, one with calipers measuring distances on a board. Windsor castle, first built by the Normans after the victory of William the Conqueror in 1066, occupies some 13 acres in the county of Berkshire.
